Sustainability & Green Plan NCL Valued Award Winners 2025
Arcadian Gardens Surgery in Wood Green have won the ‘Sustainability & Green Plan’ NCL Valued Award 2025.
In this category, judges were looking to celebrate organisations who have introduced new sustainability-focused initiatives, which have positively impacted people, operations, and the environment – contributing to the NHS and wider system’s goal of becoming more environmentally responsible.
Arcadian Gardens Surgery won this award for its innovative Health Inequalities Allotment Project, supporting patients with COPD, asthma, mental health conditions, and social isolation. The project turned our local allotment into a therapeutic space that promotes gentle exercise, healthy eating, and community connection.
Led by Dr Karim, Dr Perera, Sav Georgiou (Practice Manager), Annie and Jan (Allotment Coordinators), it brings together patients, PCN partners, and volunteers to improve wellbeing through nature. The initiative demonstrates how green, community-based healthcare can deliver lasting physical and mental health benefits.
